Lake Mburo National Park
Lake Mburo National park is located in the southern part of Uganda in Mbarara district covering size of 26osqkm; it is the best place in the country to see the gigantic Eland antelopes as well as Zebras, Topi, Impalas and several acacia associated birds.
Lake Mburo as the only national park which is blessed with the lake also attracts hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as sitatunga antelope, red, black and yellow papyrus ganelok.

Getting there
The park can be accessed from Kampala to Mbarara district about 3 to 5 hours drive.
Turn left at 13km to sanga gate 5km from the main road to Nshara gate about 20 minutes drive from Rwonyo park headquarters.
Major Tourist Activities
Game Viewing; this is the major tourist activity in the Park about 68 different species of mammals. Common ones are Zebras, Impala, Buffalo, Topi and Eland. Herbivores are roan Antelope, Leopard, predators are Jackals and hyenas and many more.
Boat Ride; Diversity of animals and plant species can be viewed clearly if you take a boat trip. Expect to see crocodiles, hippos and birds like Pelicans, black Crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, and the rare Shoe bill stalk among others. All these will furnish your visit with pride.
Guided Walks; During the nature walk, Visitors have a chance of moving In the circuit at their own pace with the company of armed guides as they enjoy and admire the beauty of nature in the park.. There is also a walk to the water to the nearby salt licking in summary of it all. This offers a chance to see at least four different species of animals at any time while they lick the salt soil without animal conscience.
Nature walk at Rubanga Forest; Here you can explore a variety of tree species like Markhamia,Platycalyx, Palms, figs, Sapium and the flame tree Erythina Abyssinia occurs towards the edge of the swamp
